Boundaries Are Changing For Some Southern Elementary Schools

Boundaries Are Changing For Some Southern Elementary Schools

Elementary school boundaries will be changing for the 2026-27 school year. The school board voted on Dec. 16 to approve boundary change option “A”, which moves about 130 students in the southern portion of the district. The goal for the boundary adjustment is to better balance enrollment across our southern schools and make room for future growth.

With this change, a group of students will move from Lake Elmo to Afton-Lakeland and another group will move from Afton-Lakeland to the new Bayport. An additional parcel of land in Woodbury, which is currently in development and does not yet have students, will be reassigned from Brookview to Afton-Lakeland.

As part of the boundary change plan any child displaced by a boundary change will have priority to apply back to their chosen school through alternate enrollment. Next year’s fifth-grade students will also be allowed to stay in their current school as a legacy student to allow them to finish out their final year of elementary school. Learn more.
